1. Burna Boy

Damini Ogulu, known professionally as Burna Boy, is a Port-Harcourt born Nigerian singer, songwriter, rapper, and dancer. He is the biggest and most successful African artists. 

2019, Burna Boy released his fourth studio album titled “African Giant” which got a Grammy normination for  Best music Album of the year but lost. But he was determined to bring home a Grammy. 

2020, he dropped his fifth studio album “Twice as Tall” which also got a Grammy normination for the 2nd consecutive time, but eventually he won becoming the first Nigerian to win a Grammy, as a Solo artist. Without no doubt and argument we can all agree that Burna Boy is the most Valuable Best Nigerian Musician.

2. Wizkid

Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, known professionally as Wizkid, Wizzy or Starboy, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. One of Africa's biggest artists, Wizkid is the most decorated Nigerian artist ever, and one of the most revolutionary Afro-pop artists of the modern era. 

Wizkid also won a Grammy after he was  norminated alongside Beyonce & Blue Ivy, he was featured by Beyonce, releasing a smash hit song “Brown Skin Girl

2020, He released his fourth studio album “Made in Lagos” which has won the heart of  so many Nigerians and has gotten millions of streams worldwide. He also won artist of the year from the just concluded Headies award.

3. Davido

David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, is a Nigerian-American singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is one of the most influential artists in Africa. 

His second studio album “A Good Time” was released November 22, 2019, and has gotten a Billion streams across all digital platforms. While is third studio album “A Better Time” that was released recently has been toping chart across all countries and platforms.

2021, Davido   aslo broke another record as his hit songs “If” and “Fall” receives a RIAA Gold plaque in the USA. Making him the first African artist to have achieved this task.

4. Olamide

Olamide Gbenga Adedeji, known professionally as Olamide is a Nigerian hip hop recording artist. He records in Yoruba, and English. 

This list will not be complete without mentioning Olamide ‘king of the street’, who has been giving us hit street songs after his break through into the Nigeria music industry. 

2020, Olamide also released his Eleventh studio album “Carp Diem” which was his first body of work under  an American label and distribution company, Empire Distribution. Recently he also announced that he will be releasing his 12th studio album soon.

5. Rema

Divine Ikubor, known professionally as Rema, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter and rapper. In 2019, he signed a record deal with Jonzing World, a subsidiary of Mavin Records. He rose to prominence with the release of the song "Iron Man", which appeared on Barack Obama's 2019 summer playlist.

Rema released three (3) EPs within a space of two years, he has been featured by many international artists. He also has a collaboration with Drake, which is yet to be released. 

On 19 October 2019, Rema won Next Rated and was nominated for Viewer's Choice at the 13th edition of The Headies. On 12 January 2020, he received the Soundcity MVP for best new artist. On 15 June 2020, Rema was nominated as Best Viewers Choice: International Act on the 2020 BET Awards. He was nominated on the awards alongside Burna Boy and Wizkid, they were the only Nigerian Artistes nominated for the awards edition of 2020.

6. Fireboy DML

Adedamola Adefolahan, known professionally as Fireboy DML, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He is signed to YBNL Nation, a record label founded by Nigerian rapper Olamide. His debut studio album Laughter, Tears and Goosebumps was released in 2019. 

2020, He  released his second studio album “Apollo” which contains alot of hit and classical RnB/Afro-pop songs, He also won five (5) awards at the recently concluded 14th Headies award.

7. Omah Lay

Stanley Omah Didia (born May 19 1997) known professionally as Omah Lay is a singer, songwriter, record producer. He first gained prominence in 2020 after his debut single 'You' went viral.

Omah Lay dropped two EP’s in one year, released a number of hits, was on a song with WizKid, Olamide and 6LACK, then went on to win Next Rated at The Headies 2021.

8. Bella Shmurda

Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed, known professionally as Bella Shmurda, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter . He rose to prominence with the release of the song "vision 2020", and a follow up remix which featured Nigeria rapper Olamide. His “High Tension EP” was also a banger.

This list will be incomplete without mentioning Fineboy Bella the “Cashapp” crooner. He has been featured by Runtown, Davido & Olamide. Recently he was seen in a studio with Wizkid.

9. Naira Marley

Azeez Adeshina Fashola, known professionally as Naira Marley, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. He is known as the president of his controversial fan base, "Marlians". 

Naira Marley is the new king of the street, he has dropped alot of street bangers and dance step “Soapy, Tesumole, Japa, Opotoyi, Mafo, Puta & Coming” etc.

10. Joeboy

Joseph Akinwale Akinfenwa, known professionally as Joeboy, is a Nigerian singer and songwriter. Mr. Eazi of record label "Empawa Africa" discovered him in 2017. His genre of music is that of Afro pop and R&B.

Joeboy's single "Baby" was released on March 1, 2019. It garnered 20 million streams across YouTube and Spotify in 2019. The visualizer music video for "Baby" surpassed 31 million views on YouTube. Joeboy released the Killertunes-produced track "Beginning" on August 15, 2019. The visualizer music video for "Beginning" surpassed 23 million views on YouTube. He also released his debute Album recently titled “Somewhere Between Beauty and Magic”.
